Strategic ladder-climbing and clever card management collide in Scout, a fast-paced game of timing and decision-making!
Scout is a unique ladder-climbing card game where each card offers two possible values, creating intriguing choices throughout the game. Players must carefully manage their hand of cards without rearranging their order, using tactics and timing to outplay their opponents.
Each card in Scout is dual-indexed, featuring two values: one on each half of the card. Players must decide whether to use the value on the top or the bottom of each card, but the order of the cards cannot be changed once dealt. On their turn, players can either play a set of cards or scout for a better option.
n Scout, players have two main actions on their turn: Play and Scout. When playing, a player selects one or more adjacent cards from their hand that either have the same value or form a consecutive sequence, and places them on the table. The set they play must either be the first on the table or must beat the current set by having more cards, identical values instead of consecutive ones, or higher values. If a player successfully overplays a set, they capture the cards from the previous set. The Scout action allows a player to take a card from either end of the set on the table and add it to their hand, then immediately play if desired.
Once all players have emptied their hands or most players have scouted instead of playing, the round ends. Victory points are earned for any face-down cards captured and deducted for cards left in hand. After multiple rounds, the player with the most points wins the game.
Game Summary:
Scout is a fast and strategic card game for 3-5 players, where you’ll balance your hand, play cards strategically, and scout to outmaneuver your opponents. With clever card manipulation and quick thinking, Scout offers endless replayability and a highly engaging experience for fans of tactical games.
